Local vendor told not to sell ‘MAGA’ hats at craft show in Yuma
A local vendor is speaking out after she was told not to sell ‘Make America Great Again’ hats because park owners say it is too political.
This is Naomi Jacobson’s first craft show at the Gila Mountain Resort in Yuma.
Halfway through the show, she was told to remove the hats from her table and controversy sparked when she asked why.
“My brother in law is a veteran and we all believe in freedom. No one asked anyone to take out science, so we chose to pack up and leave because that’s part of our freedom,” said Jacobson.
The Activity Mountain Director at the resort said there will now be restrictions on what they can and cannot sell so that events like these don’t happen in the future.
The Activity Mountain Director also told News 11 and stressed the importance of complying with the owner’s regulations and what they feel is suitable to be displayed on private property.
