16-year-old charged for making school threat on social media
A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday and faces charges in connection to a school threat made on social media, according to the San Luis Police Department.
Police said the boy had made threats of a shooting in a school on Snapchat. Officers arrested the boy, with the help of the Yuma Police Department, when the boy turned himself in at their station. The 16-year-old was booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Detention Center for interference with or disruption of an educational institution.
SLPD, along with YPD, the Yuma Union High School District, and San Luis High School, encourage everyone to report any threats to school officials and the police department.
