Gila Ridge attends ‘Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders’

Gila Ridge High School student Logan Scott represented Yuma Union High School District and the state of Arizona at the ‘Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders’ this summer in Boston.

Scott received an official award of excellence, certifying her successful completion of the Congress in June, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Scott was surrounded by many fellow high school students who share her passion, ability, and potential.

All those in attendance were personally taught by some of the “greatest living minds in medicine,” with some of those being David J Wineland, Ph.D. and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics. Others include; Negan Smith, Chief Technology Officer of the United States of America, Sheldon Glashow Ph.D. and Nobel Prize winner in Physics as well as Robert Metcalfe, the inventor of the Ethernet.

The purpose is to honor and reward high-achieving students dedicated to medicine or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Technology (STEM) subjects.
