Local leaders react to Kavanaugh hearing
Supreme Court Justice nominee Brent Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford have provided testimonies to the Senate Judiciary Committee this week after Ford alleged allegations of sexual assault against Kavanaugh.
Arizona State Representative Charlene Fernandez from Yuma found Ford’s testimony to be believable.
“I think that doctor Ford brought up enough testimony that should put some doubt in the minds of people that are making this decision,” Ford said. “When judge Kavanaugh came out to speak…he was very hostile, defensive, bordered belligerent, but I get it because his life has been turned upside down.”
The Chairman of the Arizona Republican party, Jonathan Lines is from Yuma and said he supports Judge Kavanaugh.
Along with President Donald Trump who stands by his nomination.
“His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting,” Trump said in a tweet. “Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist.”
