School principal arrested in Mexicali then released with charges dropped

A Calexico school principal was arrested in Mexicali and then set free after police allegedly found a suspicious-looking substance in his car.

Mexicali authorities arrested a man identified as 39-year-old Oscar Olivarria for allegedly having a controlled substance in his vehicle on Thursday afternoon. Authorities said Olivarria ran a stop sign. After a search of the vehicle, police said they found a substance they identified as “ICE”. Mexicali media sources said charges against Olivarria were dropped. Olivarria is the principal of the Calexico Mission School located on the 600 th block of First street in the City of Calexico. The school is part of the Seventh-Day Adventist Education System. We reached out to school officials and the Mexicali police department but they were not available for comment.
