Arizona adds Yuma County to its renters assistance program

The Arizona Department of Economic Security announced on Wednesday Yuma, Pima, and Maricopa residents now qualify

PHOENIX, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - On June 16, 2021, the Arizona Department of Economic Security announced that it added Yuma, Pima, and Maricopa counties to its Emergency Renters Assistance Program. Now, all of the state's 15-counties are eligible for assistance.

The news comes after families throughout the state continue to seek assistance due to difficulties stemming from the global pandemic. For those that qualify DES will provide them with funds for rent and utilities.

In order to qualify residents have to apply and meet a range of requirments from overdo rent, utility bills and so on. If approved an applicant can receive up to $3500/monthly for a maximum of 18-months.
