Mounted Posse arranges 2021-2022 student scholarships
Geared toward pupils with an agricultural interest
YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Mounted Posse (YCMP) announced plans to offer three $500 scholarships for the 2021-2022 school year. These scholarships are available for high school seniors whom are planning to further their education beyond a secondary institution.
Preference will be given to students that are active in 4-H, FFA or other agriculture related extracurricular activities.
Formed in 1954, the YCMP is a volunteer unit that was established to assist the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office during emergencies.
Posse members organize and produce multiple roping and barrel racing events throughout the year, such as the Yuma County Fair, the Silver Spur Rodeo, Grad Night, block parties, concerts and other benefits throughout the county; many of which benefit the community or individuals for various causes, such as these scholarships.
Candidates should submit their senior packets addressed to the YCMP at PO Box 402 Yuma, AZ 85366. Submissions be entered no later than Tuesday, June 15.
