AWC’s 2017 Catrina Competition will be hosted Nov. 1st

The Arizona Western College’s Yuma Young Adults Club will be hosting the 2017 Catrina Competition on Nov. 1st.

Catrinas are a well-known Mexican tradition to commemorate the Day of the Dead holiday through colorful and inventive costumes.

Both men and women can compete and there is a registration fee of $15 which can be paid at any AWC cashier.

Prizes include $500 for first place, $250 for second place, and $150 for third place.

The competition will be held at the Yuma Campus Courtyard 3-C Building and will begin at 2:00 p.m. through 5:00 p.m.
