Skeletal remains belong to missing woman
Investigators say skeletal remains found last year in Arizona’s Chiricahua Mountains belong to a New Mexico woman missing since 2015.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office says DNA testing identified the bones as belonging to 44-year-old Lydia ” Janet ” Castrejon .
Castrejon disappeared in June of 2015 while camping with her family in the southern Arizona mountains near Wilcox.
She suffered from a traumatic brain injury that left her with diminished brain capacity. It’s believe she wandered off and got lost.
Deputies say they found no evidence of foul play.
