PG&E agrees to billion dollar wildfire settlement
The California power company blamed for sparking a pair of deadly wildfires agrees to a multi-billion dollar settlement.
Pacific Gas & Electric has agreed to pay an $11-billion settlement to cover damaged and deaths associated with the fires.
State investigators say PG&E transmission lines sparked the 2018 ” Camp Fire ” in Northern California.
The blaze killed 85 people, scorched 153-thousand acres, and virtually wiped the town of Paradise off the map.
PG&E lines also sparked a 2017 fire that killed nine.
The settlement covers the majority of insurance claims from both blazes.
