Tense moments for passengers aboard a flight out of Phoenix when two tires blowout after an aborted takeoff.
The Federal Aviation Administration says the American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Las Vegas experienced a mechanical issue as it prepared to leave the ground.
Pilots aborted takeoff, and exited the runway, blowing out two tires in the process.
The plane did stop safely and taxied to a ramp area.
No one got hurt.
American Airlines says the tires flattened as a result of the aborted takeoff. Maintenance workers are now inspecting the aircraft.
