Grand Canyon to expand access to its South Rim
24-hour access to entrance to start in June
GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Grand Canyon is expanding access to its popular South Rim entrance. It's even planning to let visitors in around the clock beginning next month.
Right now the South Rim entrance station only offers limited hours. Beginning June 5, when the full park opens, that will change.
The canyon's North Rim will also reopen next Friday. However, construction will keep its campground closed for another month.
Concessionares will start reopening lodges sometime in June. For now visitors can access hike trials, and a few commercial services. Rafting trips through the canyon are respected to resume in mid-June.
