Video shows late husband warning police about missing kids’ mother
Body cam video shows Charles Vallow's concern for his children months before they disappeared
GILBERT, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Newly-released body camera video shows Lori Vallow's late husband warning police about his then-estranged wife months before he died and his children went missing
Vallow currently faces two felony counts related to her children's disappearance, including desertion and non-support. She's also accused of resisting and obstructing an officer. In addition, she's charged with solicitation of a crime, and contempt.
Her children, 7-year-old JJ Vallow, and 17-year-old Tylee Ryan went missing in September, shortly after her mother moved them from Arizona to Idaho. Tylee was last seen September 8 in Yellowstone National Park during a family trip. JJ was last seen at his school in Rexburg, Idaho on September 23.
The newly released body cam footage shows Vallow's fourth husband, Charles, expressing his fears for his children back in January of 2019. On the tape, the agitated father tells Gilbert police officers he has just returned from a business trip to find himself locked out his house. He also tells them his truck is missing. Vallow tells police he's been trying to reach his wife for two days, and is fearful for his children.
"How does she pose a threat to your children?" an officer asks Vallow during the taped conversation.
"I don't know what she's going to do with them. Flee with them. Hurt them." Vallow responds.
Officer eventually help Vallow get into his house, but they find it empty.
The following month, in February, Charles Vallow filed for divorce from Lori. Five-months later, he was dead, shot by his estranged wife's brother, Adam Cox. Within months, Cox too would die under suspicious circumstances.
Lori Vallow still refuses to tell investigators where her children might be. Months of searching have turned up no clues to their whereabouts.
In the meantime, Vallow and her new husband, are now being investigated for the death of his late wife.
