YUMA, Ariz. ( KYMA, KECY) - A local father organizes a parade for his son's 10th birthday.

The father, Skyler Poston, says he wanted to do something special for his son's birthday in times of social distancing, stay-at-home orders, and birthdays not being celebrated in large gatherings.

Police and fire departments were present as they drove through their neighborhood honking horns and shouting happy birthday.

“I can do, I can do that bigger, brighter and louder so I just started texting and messaging friends with cars," said Poston.

The pandemic may have forced families to stay inside, and celebrate special days behind closed doors. This is not stopping Enders Poston from feeling thankful. “I’m just thinking that we’re going to get through this, no matter what," said Enders.

Enders said he sees a light at the end of the dark tunnel and this crisis has show the community to stand together. “Don’t be let down, just think its cause the virus but we still have things to do and we have our family," said Enders.

Enders said when strangers become friends, when the community rallies in support of one little boy, Poston said there's no better way to define it than 'Yuma Strong.'“If Yuma tries, Yuma can do," said Enders.
