Pest Control company goes above and beyond to make sure Yuma is protected
YUMA, Ariz (KYMA, KECY) - One Yuma pest control company is not just fighting bugs and rodents, they are fighting the coronavirus.
It takes about an hour of spraying and wiping down the disinfectant in the Yuma County building, but it’s more than just a job for Sun City Pest Control.
Manny Valenzuela said he was the first to bring the disinfectant.
"When all of this started going on in the world, I thought about how can I help Yuma County and get ahead of this game," explained Valenzuela. "Now we have plenty of it available so we can take care of Yuma County."
He said he did it in hopes of keeping his hometown protected.
“I’m a Yuma-native. It’s very important for me to keep the community healthy. This pandemic is devastating a lot of the places in the united states and in the world.“
Valenzuela got the product in a time when people where panic buying and necessities couldn't stay on the shelves.
“I know that the community was struggling with all of these out of stock stores and for me to have the ability with disinfectants. So for me to have this and be able to help the community it just means a lot.”
But what exactly is in the product that his team is using to fight the spread?
“Its main ingredient is ammonia chloride. It has four ingredients, but that's the main ingredient. Its a disinfectant, a sanitizer and a virucide that is labeled for Coronavirus,” said Valenzuela.
Valenzuela’s team is spraying places one at a time to fight the spread, but it’s so easy to apply that people can buy the product and do it themselves.
News 11’s Ciara Encinas suited up and went inside with Sun City Pest Control to see how they are fighting the coronavirus. Tune in at 5 p.m. to hear what is in the product that kills viruses.
