Search for Pennsylvania prison escapee continues
TIONA, Penn. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The manhunt for Pennsylvania prison escapee Michael Burham continues.
The reward for Burham, who escaped Friday from the Warren County Prison, has been increased to $19,500.
On Tuesday, crews searched in the area of Tiona, which is in Warren County.
During an afternoon news conference, state police said there were possible sightings of Burham Monday night and overnight, as well as break-ins at cabins.
Burham is charged with a homicide in New York as well as kidnapping a Pennsylvania couple before being arrested in South Carolina.
Investigators believe Burham received some assistance after his escape.
More than 150 law enforcement officers are actively involved in the manhunt. The United States (U.S.) Marshal Service has also provided resources.
Burham should be considered armed and dangerous.
