News 11 Weather Authority: Double digit highs fading fast
June 10th, 2021
YUMA, Ariz., (KYMA, KECY) - The large-scale upper level system that has provided a nice cooling buffer for our area is now on it's way out.
An emerging high pressure ridge to the Southeast will continue to gain strength over the next several days.
Our coming weekend temperatures will surge into the 110 degree range, only to potentially roll several degrees higher next week.
This essentially means that we'll be in the crosshairs of the 1st large-scale Excessive Heat Warning that our area will face this Summer season.
The warning should be in place all of next week, with daytime high temperatures ranging from 108 to 119 degrees.
