House democrats won’t vote on gun bills this week
(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - House democrats will not be voting on a series of gun and policing bills this week.
A source familiar with the matter made the announcement Wednesday.
That includes a bill to ban assault weapons.
Lawmakers had scheduled these bills in the wake of a wave of mass shootings across the united states.
But the source said democrats are going to further negotiate the package.
Democratic leaders were hoping to pass the bills before the August recess.
But now they are working to finalize a bill that could be passed.
The house come back into session during August.
