(KYMA, CNN) - The United States's World Cup dream is over after a 4-to-1 loss to Belgium Monday night in Seattle.

Malik Tillman scored Team USA's only goal on a first-half free kick, but the Americans suffered several defensive mistakes during the match.

Team USA's loss comes after President Donald Trump spoke out against Folarin Balogun's red card call Sunday.

Trump asked FIFA President Gianni Infantino for a review on the call, but the move was met with backlash from critics.

With the defeat, the United States joins Canada and Mexico on the sidelines, meaning all three World Cup co-hosts have now been eliminated before the quarterfinals.
