Camila Torres defends No. 1 ranking at “Who’s Number One”

STILLWATER, Okla. (KYMA) - Yuma is officially home to one of the best wrestlers in the country.

Cibola senior and Matador Wrestling Club product Camila Torres competed at FloWrestling’s Who’s Number One event Saturday at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Torres entered the competition ranked No. 1 in the country at 135 pounds and successfully defended her ranking, defeating No. 2 challenger Bella Miller out of Iowa.

The victory marks another major accomplishment for Torres, who previously defeated Miller at Fargo Nationals in July.

Torres finished as the runner-up at Fargo after defeating the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in the tournament, putting her on the national radar.

The Cibola senior is also the first wrestler from Yuma County to compete at Who’s Number One and the only girl representing Arizona at this year’s event.

Torres now returns to Yuma with her No. 1 ranking intact, continuing to put Yuma wrestling on the national stage.
