Michael Jordan’s “Last Dance” jersey sells for over $10 million
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - A Chicago Bulls jersey worn by Michael Jordan in Game One of the 1998 NBA Finals - which culminated in the famous season known as "The Last Dance" - went up for auction.
And the selling price is outstanding.
Someone ponied up $10.1 million in a Sotheby's auction to make it theirs.
If that's higher than you expected, you're not the only one who's shocked at the final price tag.
The pre-sale estimate was between $3 million and $5 million.
This is the most money someone's ever paid for a piece of sports memorabilia that was worn in a game.
Sotheby's says it "solidifies Michael Jordan as the undisputed GOAT (greatest of all time), proving his name and incomparable legacy is just as relevant as it was nearly 25 years ago."
