“Million Dollar Shootout” in our own backyard
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - For the 2nd year in a row, Amberly's place is teaming up with Alexander Ford to put on the "Million Dollar Hole in One Shootout" tournament.
On Monday at the arroyo golf course in Yuma, the fourth of five qualifying rounds took place where a total of 21 amateur golfers will qualify for Tuesday's final shoot-out round.
In each preliminary round, the three competitors that get their shots closest to the pin will advance to Tuesday's final round for a shot at a one-million-dollar annuity.
The last preliminary round will tee off tomorrow from 10-am to 2 pm MST at the arroyo golf course.
Amberly's place board member, Jeff Byrd
"People wonder how do you give away a million dollars? Well, it's a million dollar annuity. We buy an insurance policy and thanks to the folks at Alexander Ford; they underwrite that for us. So, they are our major sponsor. And it's just something that kind of brings a little excitement to the holidays. What a great way to start out the new year with a nice million dollar annuity."
The final shoot-out will take place at the Desert Hills Championship Golf Course at hole 17. The final 21 contestants will "Tee off" at 3 p-m mountain time. All the proceeds to this event will go to Amberly's place. For more information, you can contact (928) 373-0849.
