Richard Colwell appointed as new Yuma County Recorder

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma County Board of Supervisors announced the appointment of a new Yuma Counter Recorder following a recent vacancy.

After interviews were conducted, Richard A. Colwell was chosen to fill the remainder Robyn Stallworth Poquette's seat.

Colwell will be sworn in on Monday, July 18, 2022 and his term will expire in December 2024.

“The Board knew it would be tough to find the person who could first fill the shoes of our former Recorder and more importantly a person with the right background to hit the ground running,” expressed Tony Reyes, Chairman, Yuma County Board of Supervisors. “All five candidates were exceptional and each had qualities needed to take on the job, but it was very clear that Richard has the right combination of experience and dedication to be thrust into this very important role.”
