Officers respond to lockdown alarm at two local schools

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Police Department says officers responded to a lockdown alarm at Gowan Science Academy and Salida del Sol Elementary School.

On Monday, May 2, at about 3:12 p.m. officers made security checks with cooperation from Crane School District.

Officers determined the lockdown was a false alarm.

Students on campus were safe and dismissed for the day.
