Trump targets House Select Committee for damaging his presidency
(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - Former President Trump is accusing the House Select Committee on January Sixth of permanently damaging his presidency.
In a legal filing Wednesday, Trump's legal team argues the committee is being so aggressive in pursuing White House records it could have a lasting impact.
The argument is being made in an appeal after a lower court ruled against Trump, saying that his records should be turned over to the committee.
While the Trump team claims it wants to block the committee as a "constitutional safeguard," the Biden Administration says executive privilege does not apply in this case.
