NY Gov Hochul sending help to Puerto Rico

(CNN) - New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced Saturday that New York State Police are on their way to Puerto Rico.

New York is deploying 100 state troopers to assist Puerto Rican residents in the wake of Hurricane Fiona.

Furthermore, Governor Hochul spoke with Puerto Rico Governor Pedro Pierluisi to determine what the island needs in the wake of the storm.

Altogether, he troopers can assist with traffic and public safety as the island deals with devastating flood and wind damage from the hurricane.

In addition, Governor Hochul promised more personnel and resources as needed.
