Californians beat the summer heat with pools and spray parks

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Lots of people opted for pools and spray parks to try and beat the heat in Sacramento.

Five-year-old Ava Tsuchida's favorite snow cone flavor is pink lemonade, especially when it gets hot outside.

Others had the same idea: Stopping at the snow cone window at Japanese confectionary Osaka-Ya on 10th and V Streets in Sacramento.

Luckily, Ava's patience paid off as the moment she's been waiting arrived. The pink lemonade snow cone must have lived up to Ava's expectations because when asked if it was worth the wait, the silence said it all.

Other families cooled off at McClatchy Park: A good spot for some fun, and some shade.

And, a few miles away in Land Park, Fairytale Town is free when it get to 95 degrees or above, which was definitely the case.
