Three victims identified in suspected human smuggling boat crash
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The San Diego Medical Examiner's Office has released the three names of the victims that died in a vessel overturned off the coast of San Diego last Sunday morning.
The U.S. Coast Guard said 32 people were aboard the vessel, 29 survived, three died and of the five remaining in the hospital, one is in critical condition. The Coast Guard indicated Sunday more than 20 people were sent to the hospital.
NBC News reported the three victims' cause of death is drowning.
The three victims are Maria Eugenia Chavez-Segovia, 41, Victor Perez Degollado, 29, and Maricela Hernandez Sanchez, 35.
