Agents find multiple migrants hiding in a truck bed

Nine people arrested, including two United States citizens

INDIO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two people for attempting to smuggle multiple migrants hiding in a truck bed.

On Thursday at about 10:42 p.m., Border Patrol agents stopped a Chevrolet Silverado on Interstate 10 and Golf Center Parkway, where they found three people laying down in the bed of the truck.

Four other people were found in the back of the Silverado and record checks found these seven people did not have the proper documentation to be in the United States.

The driver and passenger of the truck were U.S. citizens but were arrested for attempting to smuggle migrants.

A gun, 10 rounds of ammo and nearly $9,000 in cash were also found in the truck.
