Arizona Diamondbacks fans react to team heading to World Series

PHOENIX, Ariz. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to the World Series after beating out the Philadelphia Phillies for the National League pennant on Tuesday night.

The Diamondbacks will make their first trip back to the fall classic since 2001, when they defeated the New York Yankees in a seven-game series.

They will face the Texas Rangers, who defeated the Houston Astros in the American League Championship series in seven games.

Fans were excited about the win.

"I love this team. They are so inspirational. They went down early in the series. They went through losing streaks throughout the year...They never quit, they never gave up. And look here we are, we're playing October baseball and we're going to the World Series. I can't believe it. It's absolutely incredible

Luke, a Diamondbacks fan

"I started crying. I can't even describe it. It was...I have no words. I'm jumping for joy and everyone around me is just...we're not used to this. We don't do this very often so."

Bryce, another Diamondbacks fan

"Tonight was like a culmination of 25 years of hard work, dedication, and these boys and this city and this state deserve every minute of this."

Susan, another Diamondbacks fan
