Phoenix pedestrian dies after being hit by light rail train

PHOENIX (AP) — Authorities still are trying to identify a pedestrian who died after being struck by a Valley Metro light rail train in Phoenix. Police say the incident occurred around 7 p.m. Wednesday and involved a person believed to be a man. They say the person was pronounced dead on the scene but has yet to be identified. Police say the victim was struck while crossing a street in central Phoenix and their investigation is ongoing.
