25-year-old man charged for transporting 14 illegal immigrants

TUCSON, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A man from Glendale, Arizona was charged by criminal complaint with transporting 14 illegal immigrants while putting people's lives in jeopardy.
Saif Ali Al Najafi, a 25-year-old man was driving in a U-Haul box truck near Naco, Arizona on July 8 according to the complaint.
Border Patrol agents stopped the U-Haul and an illegal immigrant was in the front passenger seat.
The agents discovered 13 more illegal immigrants including two minor children.
A witness inside the U-Haul mentioned how the driver opened the cargo door for the group that entered inside and closed it behind them, then placed a lock on the door which frightened them.
A conviction for transporting illegal aliens while placing in jeopardy the life of another has a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine or both.
