YUHSD Removes Teacher Accused of Luring A Minor

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - David Hannah, The former Yuma High School teacher accused of luring a minor for sex was dismissed from the Yuma Union High Scool District during its board of directors meeting Wednesday night. 

Superintendent Gina Thompson recommended the immediate removal of  Hannah's employment from the district.

The vote for his dismissal was unanimous with all five board members present. 

Hannah was still employed with the district this year up until schools closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. His last day at work was March 13, according to YUHSD. 

Tuesday state prosecutors charged Hannah with 10 felony counts and issued a $150,000 cash-only bond. 

He is scheduled to be back in court at the end of the month to determine if there is enough evidence to stand trial.
