YUHSD teacher faces judge on sex charges
Teacher now faces 10 different criminal charges
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - David Hannah, the Yuma Unified High School District (YUHSD) teacher accused of luring a minor for sex , faced a judge Tuesday. Hannah now stands accused of 10 different charges.
The judge ordered Hannah held on a $150,000 cash-only bond. He's due back in court at the end of the month for a hearing to determine if there's enough evidence against the teacher to send him to trial.
The Yuma Police Department confirms the alleged victim the be a 16-year-old girl. Yuma Union High School District (YUHSD) confirms the girl was a student.

YUHSD also confirms Hannah taught at Yuma High School. The school district says his last day at the school was March 13. That's just before school closed due to the coronavirus.
Because there are legal mechanisms that must take place before the termination of a certified employee's contract, YUHSD will discuss Hannah's termination in a board meeting set for Wednesday.
In a statement from YUHSD:
"Superintendent Gina Thompson recommends the immediate dismissal of David Hannah for cause from his employment as a YUHSD teacher."
