The Complex will welcome members to revamped gym
Arizona gyms cleared to reopen Wednesday
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY)- The Complex says people have literally been knocking on its doors pleading for them to reopen, and since Arizona Governor Doug Ducey gave the green light for gyms to do so, their phone hasn’t stopped ringing.
It's been eight long weeks since The Complex paused memberships.
Co-owner, Linda Cook, said, “People during this COVID time have realized more than ever how important their health is.”
As members lost muscle mass, The Complex suffered significant financial loss.
Luckily, a local bank was able to spot them during this heavy time, helping with funds to secure their payroll.
Tuesday, the family-run fitness center was caught by surprise when Governor Ducey abruptly announced the reopening of gyms.
The Complex spent much of this time stripping floors and painting walls so that members could return to a refreshed space.
Starting Friday, the main weight room, cardio rooms, pool, and sauna will reopen.
Then Monday, the full gym will reopen, including group and athletic classes, and the juice bar.
However, members should expect a few changes.
Members should check-in on The Complex's app before arriving to workout.
Classes will be limited to 8-10 people to accommodate social distancing.
Also, surfaces and equipment will be sanitized hourly.
Monthly dues won’t be reinstated until June, but members will have to pay a $20 flat fee for full access for the remainder of May.
