SOMERTON, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- The passenger killed on Wednesday's fatal crash in Somerton has been identified as a young adult.

According to YCSO, the family has been notified.
On December 18, the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department (SCFD) responded to a two-vehicle collision where one person was pronounced dead on Avenue G and County 13th Street.
Upon arrival, they found a dark gray sedan facing north of Avenue G and a black Jeep Cherokee on top of it.
Both vehicles had severe damage to the front of the cars.
Fire officials said the two front passengers of the sedan were trapped in the vehicle as well as a person in the back. The person driving the Jeep was able to get out of his vehicle and was lying on the shoulder when fire officials arrived.
YCSO said the case is being investigated. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
