Jury selection begins for Somerton murder suspect
The jury selection for 27-year-old Oscar Quintero who is being charged with first-degree murder and other counts is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Superior Court in Yuma County.
The opening trial will start on Thursday and around 250 jurors will be called with questionnaires.
Quintero was charged with first-degree murder for domestic violence, attempted murder, two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of aggravated assault in the death of 24-year-old Clarissa Medina.
On January 3, 2018, police received reports of several gunshots fired in the area of Main Street and Bingham Avenue where police found two gunshot victims.
Police arrested Quintero that same night after police located his vehicle parked in close proximity to the shooting.
The trial is expected to last around four weeks.
