Border Patrol agents arrest convicted felon
A man that was previously convicted of multiple felonies and misdemeanors since 1991 was arrested by the U.S. Border Patrol agents after allegedly entering the United States on July 11.
Agents said the man allegedly crossed the border illegally around five miles east of the Tecate Port of Entry.
Upon arrest, agents revealed that 43-year-old Jose Segura-Garcia a Mexican national had been convicted of felony Child Cruelty with the possibility of great bodily injury or death in 2009 in the state of California. Agents said Segura-Garcia was sentenced to eight years in prison for the conviction.
According to agents, Segura-Garcia has previously been convicted of numerous misdemeanors and felonies ranging from DUI, robbery, and multiple counts of battery.
Segura-Garcia is currently held in federal custody and is awaiting further criminal proceedings.
