City of Yuma to address opioid and drug use during forum

The City of Yuma will host a forum addressing opioid and other drug use Tuesday night.

During the month of March, there were three separate overdose incidents reported within 48 hours of each other.

Cpl. Erick Resendiz will be leading the presentation that will be open to the public.

The forum is expected to address fentanyl, vaping, marijuana, and other drugs, according to city officials.

“Most people are not purposefully trying to abuse fentanyl,” noted Yuma Police Cpl. Erick Resendiz, who will lead Tuesday’s presentation. “They’re being accidentally exposed to it while trying to use other drugs that turn out to be laced with Fentanyl.”

You can attend the forum at City Hall beginning at 5 p.m.
