Fentanyl, meth and heroin bust along U.S. – Mexico border

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Port of Nogales seized nearly $240,000 worth of methamphetamine, heroin, and fentanyl Wednesday morning, according to CBP.

CBP Officers at the Dennis DeConcini Crossing said they referred a 57-year-old U.S. citizen from Coolidge, Ariz. for further inspection of his Saab when he attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico. Following an alert by a CBP narcotics detection canine, CBP officers said they discovered and seized nearly 35 pounds of methamphetamine, worth an estimated $104,000, more than two pounds of heroin, worth nearly $60,000, and five pounds of fentanyl, worth $75,000.

Officers seized the drugs and vehicle. The subject was arrested and turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
