A multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 8 and Avenue 3E left parts of the freeway heading westbound closed Thursday night.
The Yuma Fire Department responded to the scene and said they had to extricate some of the drivers involved from their vehicles.
YFD added some of those involved were transported to the hospital, but it is unclear what injuries they sustained and how many people were transported.
The Arizona Department of Transportation said in a tweet that they were unsure how long the freeway would be closed.
