Upcoming closure on Interstate 8 near Dateland

The eastbound Mohawk Rest Area along Interstate 8 will be closed much of Thursday as a recovery crew removes a disabled oversized trailer, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The closure at the eastbound rest area, located near Dateland at milepost 56, will begin around 7 a.m. The removal is expected to take most of the day.

Eastbound I-8 travelers will be able to use the Sentinel Rest Area at milepost 83.
