Consumers with allergy can be affected by Shamrock Farms recall in Arizona

Shamrock Farms of Phoenix, Ariz., is issuing a voluntary recall of Shamrock Farms’ two percent ‘Reduced Fat Vanilla Half Gallon Milk’ with the ‘Best Before Date’ of March 16, 2019.

Shamrock Farms said the product was shipped to retail and distributor customers throughout Arizona and the recall comes after the product tested positive for an undeclared tree nut (almond) allergen.

According to Shamrock Farms, people with tree nut allergies could be affected, with allergic reactions that can range from a mild rash to severe breathing difficulties.

While there have been no reports of illness, SF said when consuming this product, the request is a precautionary measure to ensure the health and safety of consumers.

The allergen is allegedly due to cross-contact with an almond-contained product in the production facility that was discovered in samples during testing, according to Shamrock Farms.

SF said anyone who has the recalled product in their possession should not consume it. The product should be disposed of immediately or returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
