CBP: Woman arrested, drugs thrown over border fence
A woman was arrested and six bundles of meth were confiscated by Border Patrol agents early Thursday morning, according to US Customs and Border Protection.
CBP said that at approximately 4:41 a.m. agents observed a woman tossing packages over the International Boundary Fence east of the Calexico Port of Entry.
When agents responded they observed the woman walking away from the location with a bag.
CBP said they discovered three packages wrapped in adhesive tape and while inspecting the area, they seized three additional packages.
CBP agents tested the six-taped bundles containing a white crystal-like substance that resulted positive for the characteristics of methamphetamine.
The combined weight of the packages was 10.4 pounds with an estimated value of $114,393.
The woman and the packages were transported to the Calexico Border Patrol Station and later turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation, according to CBP.
