Healthier lifestyle for the new year with a local expert

It’s a new year, which means many of us are gearing up to tackle our new year goals.

News 11’s Elly Morillo spoke with Wellness Guru and Fitness Coach Kella Price on some ways you can assess just what you want to accomplish without stressing or creating an anxious environment.

“Eighty percent of Americans quit their new years goals by February. Eighty percent. So we really want to improve that, by making small progressive changes incrementally throughout the month so that you can have success and feel encouraged by your progress,” says Price when asked if having too many on your list can affect your success.

Goals for the new year are not always based on the physical, Price says it’s also a mental journey.

“Look at all aspects of health and wellness it’s not just about cardiovascular health, it should also be about healthy eating, reducing stress in your life, looking at emotional wellness as well, which things like meditation can assist with that,” said Price.

Price ays when trying to encourage her clients, she also likes to reflect on how the previous year impacted their lives and what changes can grow from past mistakes.

“Revisit their goals and assess what they really did well in the previous year and celebrate those victories, but also assess areas for improvement, ” said Price.
