Yuma Sector Border Patrol arrests nearly 200 immigrants

Nearly 200 migrants from seven countries were arrested this week, according to Yuma Sector Border Patrol.

The agency said the arrests were made from Tuesday afternoon to 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

People arrived in 23 different groups and included 18 minors traveling without their parents. The vast majority arrested, 149, came from Guatemala.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol said they have seen a steady increase in the number of non-Mexican migrants arriving and surrendering to agents at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Most arriving migrants in the past have hailed from Mexico.
