McSally faces Sinema for Arizona Senate seat

The race for the U.S. Senate has left two women in the lead for the six year term in Congress.

Republican nominee Martha McSally and Democratic candidate Kyrsten Sinema led the way in the race for U.S. Senate.

McSally is the winner of the GOP primary with 52 percent and over 263,000 votes.

Kelli Ward finished in second place with 28 percent of the votes and Joe Arpaio trailed at just 19 percent.

“I want to congratulate Colonel Martha McSally for her victory. She worked hard and I wish her luck. I hope she works hard to be the Democrat I want to hold her feet to the fire. I want to make sure she supports our president,” said Arpaio.

Kyrsten Sinema finished the race with a big lead Wednesday morning with 80 percent of the votes and Deedra Abboud fell behind at 20 percent and only 76,000 votes.

Sinema and McSally will battle in November for a chance at the U.S. Senate seat.
