Shooter billboard has messages for the media and liberals
Billboard messages greeting drivers heading west on Interstate 8 has some up in arms.
Don Shooter, Arizona Senatorial candidate, has strong messages for the media and liberals.
The statements made on the billboard outside of Wellton include, “telling the truth not fake news,” “stick it to the media” and “make a liberals head explode.”
Shooter said the messages behind the billboard sum up his candidacy.
“The billboard sums up my candidacy after the charges of violating political correctness did not kill me. But, I have learned from this experience and I’m back in the game to represent this district better than it’s ever been done before,” said Shooter in a statement to News 11.
Michelle Harris, the only Democrat eyeing the same seat as Shooter, said that voters are not looking for insults.
“If that’s the way he wants to run his campaign, then good luck to him. I’ve been out talking to voters in the district and really they want ideas, not insults,” said Harris.
Harris added her campaign is all-inclusive.
“I want to represent all people of LD [Legislative District] 13. Not just Democrats, not just independents not just Republicans. I have made a lot of effort in order to get out and hear what the concerns are throughout all the communities,” said Harris.
Harris said that it will be up to voters if they want Shooter to represent them at the Arizona State Capitol.
Voters in the 13th Legislative District will be able to decide if they want Shooter to be the Republican candidate in the Arizona Primary on August 28.
The winner of the Republican Primary will face Harris.
