Tzofim friendship caravan cancels Thursday’s performance
UPDATE: (5:00 P.M.)
Due to a non-injury traffic accident outside of Tuscon, performances of the Tzofim Friendship Caravan are canceled. The Church for the City and the Yuma Jewish Community apologize for any inconvenience.
The Tzofim Friendship Caravan will be performing songs, dances, and telling stories at Church for the City on Thursday.
The caravan began in 1973 and has been performing throughout North America and other countries.
Caravans are made up of their two leaders and five girls and five boys who are leaders in their scout chapters in Israel.
Each scout participates in an intensive round of interviews and is considered based on maturity, fluency in English, and performing arts talent.
If they are chosen, scouts spend a year training and rehearsing their performance for their summer in North America.
The scouts will perform songs both in English and Hebrew, interactive dances, and tell stories that include a glimpse into their lives.
Fred Brown is a member of the Board of Directors for the Yuma Jewish Council and is also producing the performance. According to Brown, there will also be four educational workshops between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. pertaining to Israel and scouting in Israel.
The performance will begin at 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available online or at the door.
