14-year-old student arrested in connection to threat made at Crane Middle School

UPDATE (2:30 P.M.)

Yuma Police Department arrested a 14-year-old male student in connection with a possible school shooting threat reported at Crane Schools at around 11:55 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities said Crane Middle School set a “shelter in place” following the threat. YPD investigated the source and validity of the threat.

The 14-year-old Crane Middle School student will be booked into the Yuma County Juvenile Justice Center for threats, interference with or disruption of an educational institution, disorderly conduct, and criminal nuisance.
